How does Lactrase work? The enzyme lactase contained in Lactrase splits the lactose and thus takes over the function of the body’s own lactase, which is lacking in lactose intolerance. Lactrase makes it possible to enjoy milk and milk products without any symptoms. This also ensures that the body is supplied with the essential nutrients, minerals and vitamins contained in milk. These include in particular protein, calcium, vitamin A and vitamin D. Where does the lactase contained in Lactrase come from? The lactase enzyme contained in Lactrase is not of animal origin. It is produced using the microorganism Aspergillus oryzae, which has been used to produce food enzymes for decades. How is Lactrase used? You should test individually what amount of Lactrase is sufficient for you. This depends in particular on the body’s own lactase production and the amount of lactose contained in the meal. Typically, 18000 FCC units of lactase (one capsule) allows the consumption of about 15-35 g of lactose. The capsules should be taken immediately before or with food or drinks containing lactose. Alternatively, you can also open the capsules and add the capsule contents to food or drinks that are warm up to 50°C. This is particularly useful when used by children.
